News Room![]() 20/3/09 - Term 1: Weeks 5/6
It's hard to believe that we are already approaching mid-term. The weather is still so warm we have hardly noticed the move into March. Our swimming will continue as long as this warm weather does! School Holiday AttendanceAs you may be aware, this Centre is going to remain open during the school holidays. It is completely your choice, however, whether your child attends or not. Free ECE still applies and there is no penalty for non-attendance, but we do need to know what your intentions are. Please complete the white slip attached to the front of this newsletter and post it into the container on the kitchen bench. EVERYONE needs to complete this as it indicates when you are NOT planning to attend. Staffing will be arranged according to roll numbers. Trips to the QuarryThank you for your great support on these trips. It was lovely to have such fine, calm weather on both days. Fathers' Breakfast and DinnerThese events are drawing closer!! Now is the time to return your forms and money. It really helps us if you respond quickly. Cost: (For both the breakfast and the dinner) These are important events and we really encourage you to try to attend. If Dad cannot attend, please consider inviting Granddad, Uncle, or a close male friend. Health IssuesOne of our morning children has a contagious skin infection. Although she is now absent until it has cleared, it could have been passed to others before it was identified. Children who have broken skin, especially those who suffer from eczema, are particularly vulnerable to these infections. We recommend that if your child has any 'suspicious' areas on their skin, that you have these checked and mention this warning. It is always a wise precaution to cover any broken skin while your child is at Kindergarten. We appreciate being told if your child ever picks up a contagious infection. Lunch BoxesWe have noticed that many children are bringing only high sugar foods for morning and afternoon tea. May we encourage you to give your child a sandwich and a piece of fruit as well as (or instead of) the processed, pre-packaged food items. Children do well to snack on slightly more substantial food when they are very busy. Blessings from all of us .. Marion Vukona |
